SC Consumer Affairs

The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs is the state’s consumer protection agency.  Among other things, they serve as an educational portal for consumers and businesses alike; informing the public on effective ways of preventing and mitigating identity theft situations.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The FTC protects consumers by stopping unfair, deceptive or fraudulent practices in the marketplace. They have educational information and programs for consumers and businesses.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (cfpb)

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulates the offering and provision of consumer financial products or services under the federal consumer financial laws and educates and empowers consumers to make better informed financial decisions. They have financial education materials that go from childhood through retirement.
