Whether it's saving birthday money, learning how to track spending, or preparing for future goals, these accounts give families a simple way to build strong habits together.

These accounts are for members under the age of 18 and require joint ownership with a parent or guardian.


Founding Savings Account

Start Saving Early

The Founding Savings Account is a great way to introduce children to saving. It helps youth members learn the value of setting money aside while giving parents or guardians the ability to guide them along the way.

Features:

  • Available to members from birth through age 17

  • Requires joint ownership with an adult

  • Encourages early saving habits


Independence Checking Account

Built for Teens Gaining Responsibility

This basic checking account is available for teens starting at age 13. It provides real-world experience managing money with a debit card in their name, while offering safeguards that help teach responsible banking.

Features:

  • Available to members ages 13 through 17

  • Requires joint ownership with an adult

  • Youth member receives a debit card in their name

  • No overdraft protection available

  • No soft credit pull required


Lightning Rod Certificate

Stronger Savings for Long-Term Goals

The Lightning Rod Certificate is a youth-exclusive CD that offers a competitive rate and the flexibility to add funds during the term. It's ideal for young savers working toward larger goals or just learning about long-term savings.

Features:

  • Available to members from birth through age 17

  • 12-month term at 3.50% APY

  • $100 minimum to open

  • Additional deposits allowed during the term
